Monday Must Have: WordPress.org

by gallori on July 24, 2007

I just gotta have my wordpress.org hosting my blog and I must have my own domain names.  As you’ve followed me around, you know that all too well.  But this is it folks.  The last stop.  I’m not saying things won’t change around here…I’ll be giving it a new look as I go along and adding some little doo-dads here and there.  I’ll be bringing you cool products that I come across, like that cool brownie pan I found earlier in the year that makes brownies where everyone slice is one with the hard edges.  That was cool…

But anyway, changes will happen but I won’t be moving again.  Dare I promise that?  I think I’m established where I want to be, and I’ll stay put for a while.  I love wordpress.org.  .com isn’t too bad either and I must have one or the other to be a happy blogger.  That’s all their is to it.

Now, having my own domain thing.  I used to make fun of my husband because I think he has a little collection of domains built up…right along with his guitar collection.  But I can’t tease him anymore because I have, let me count…eight.  Yep.  I can’t stand the fact that blogging softwares have their name in the titles of my blogs.  It’s just too cumbersome for me and my readers.  (Not that changing my host every three months hasn’t been a pain for y’all).  But I like domain names and it’s fun to try and come up with just the right combinations of words and letters.   Try it…you’ll get hooked.

It’s almost as addicting as fonts.  Do you like fonts?  Check this site out:  Creative Spirits.  You’ll get tons of free, cool fonts and some other content that is more than you bargain for.

So, Must Have Monday today is late and it’s kind of boring.  But I thought it was appropriate because I spent my whole day transferring to wordpress.org when it should have taken me about 15 minutes.  ::sigh::  Watch for a new design to come too.

Hey, what’s your Must Have this week?  Leave a comment or link to a post about it.

Thanks tofulou. I love Anthropoligie’s stuff. I’ve only seen the store in Soho but I’ll check them out online. There’s nothing like finding a line of clothes that fits just right!

Btw, my sister-in-law writes soy cookbooks.
